THE FUTURE: Radio Veteran Praises Spectator News Coverage

Marc Clarke, host of one time top rated, "Big Phat Morning Show," on Radio One's 92Q in Baltimore and more recently weekend night host on DC's WHUR, has recently joined online mega podcast site Spreaker.com.

Clarke hasn't done an official show yet, but in several short introductory recordings, the 26 year radio veteran was very excited and intrigued about the possibilities of the medium. He promised big things were coming there, calling it "the future."

Clarke also gave a glowing review to long time, Baltimore independent, multimedia investigative journalist, A.F. James MacArthur, aka "The Baltimore Spectator," heard on WBAL, WOLB, WFBR, and numerous other outlets.

Passing The Torch

Referring to coverage of a brutal home invasion, triple-shooting last night in Baltimore, broken by The Baltimore Spectator, Clarke said in the comment section of the "BREAKING NEWS" portion of MacArthur's podcast, "Such a sad story but great job reporting...you really are filling a void that is needed and I think this is really going to blow up, keep up the good work my brotha!"

According to recent statistics provided by search giant Google.com, The Baltimore Spectator was ranked number one and in the top 20 results for several Baltimore related search terms. The site was also top 20 in the nation for search results related to the General David Petraeus sex scandal.

Friday Night Fusillade! One Dead, Two Wounded In Three Separate Incidents

Story & photographs by A.F. James MacArthur

Police investigate murder scene at corner of E. 26th & Guilford
An unidentified woman was shot and killed Friday night on the 300 block of E. 26th St. at the intersection of Guilford Ave. in a quiet residential neighborhood of north Baltimore. At 9:10 p.m. Friday, Baltimore Police reported the shooting on Twitter. The incident was the second killing within the immediate vicinity in 48 hours (see man Man shot on Charles St. dies from his injuries).

A group of about a dozen neighbors stood outside in the cold night air, their gazes frozen, as they looked on in shock and disbelief at the bright red blood, still wet and flowing on the sidewalk, directly adjacent to end-unit rowhouse. Neighbors wishing to remain unidentified mentioned seeing the woman, accompanied by two other men in the area of the shooting prior to the incident taking place. The group had the appearance of being acquaintances.  Described as Black, between the ages of 18-21, they were not recognized as being residents of the area.

As the woman sat on the steps in front of a house, one of the men was heard talking loudly on a cell phone, appearing to be in some sort of argument or dispute. Moments later, gunfire was heard as the two men vanished and the woman was left dying on the ground.
Death happened here. Blood of shooting left victim on sidewalk.

While Baltimore Police homicide detectives investigated, the crowd of onlookers grew. Many said they had not heard about the man shot and killed the day prior, only a few blocks away.

The incident was the first of two overnight incidents involving women being shot, in addition to a man shot in the face in an unrelated incident. Normally representing a small percentage of shooting victims in the city, a recent surge of females victims, including several teenagers, may be signaling a shift or expansion of the typical profile of a Baltimore murder victim.

MESSAGE TO ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT/INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES

To all those who willfully, deliberately and routinely violate the civil rights of law abiding American Citizens; Yes, you're powerful. Sure, you're everywhere. But this is still America, and the Constitution of the United States Of America still reigns supreme as the law of the land. The Baltimore Spectator will vigorously and aggressively defend against any and all attempts at spying and suppression. Let it be known to all that we are already aware of the regular monitoring and shadowing attempts. There is nothing to hide, but cross the line and there will be hell to pay.

In the end, efforts to impinge upon the freedoms of the people will ultimately fail. Some of us may get taken out in the ongoing battle for true and lasting freedom, but as I've said many times before, and will say till the day I die or get taken out by you goons, THERE ARE MORE OF US, THAN THERE ARE OF YOU.
