Tennesse Titans owner Bud Adams confirmed the death of quarterback Steve McNair in a brief today.
He said he was"one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl."
Nashville Police have released few details, but say McNair was found dead inside a condominum complex, along with the body of 20 year old woman, whose identity was not released.
Sources close to the investigation say the woman is McNair's girlfriend, she has been positively identified, but they are still with hodling release of her name. The sources also say the residence is her condominium in downtown Nashville. McNair was 36 years old.
Steve McNair was a National Football League co-MVP in 2003. He was considered by many to be nothing short of a warrior. Often playing through pain and injury, and sustaining repeated hits, only to get up for another play, around the league he is well recognized as an inspiring force or work ethic and dedication.
After playing 11 seasons in with the Titans, he joined the Baltimore Ravens for two seasons before retiring.
