In the first broadcast of 2015, famed citizen journalist and director of the MacArthur Institute Center For Advanced Analysis & Critical Comparison, Dr. James MacArthur comes out swinging.
After a slow start, Dr. MacArthur goes in on the Baltimore Police Department and their lack of transparency. Particularly offensive to him is their lack of disclosure in a recent police involved shooting.
MacArthur discusses some of his background in criminology and criminal justice and the ironic love hate relationship between law enforcement and himself. His most recent editorial "NYPD Turned Their Backs, But Opened Our Eyes" was also expanded upon.
Other topics include:
- Day in history.
- Dangerous drivers of Baltimore, and the death of bicyclist Palermo.
- Murder rate versus murder count. The homicide cases of juveniles Mackenzie Elliot and Michael Mayfield.
Recorded 3 January 2015.
