It was mid morning on Thursday. Managing Editor A.F. James MacArthur noticed an unusual amount of footprints in the snow behind the hardned bunker complex that is MacArthur Media Headquarters. Deciding to take a closer look in attempts to gather clues on the possible intruders, what happened next nearly caused a casualty.
While closely observing the array of different prints in the snow, suddenly out of his peripheral vision MacArthur saw a fast moving blur closing in. Just a few yards away was four legged attacker, and he meant business.
Racing for the outer door of "the bunker" MacArthur opened it just inches away from the snarling, gaping jaws, filled with a nice full set of razor sharp teeth. As he dove through the door, he reached for his handy can of OC (that's pepper spray) and unloaded on the four legged shock trooper.
With the K9 dazed and confused, MacArthur was able to close the door behind him and recover in the safety of "the bunker." Speaking with him after the event, he said; "it was really scary, I was literally running for my life, it's been a while since I had to hoof it like that."

Amid Threats, MacArthur Dramatically Increases Security
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As an officer, James MacArthur dealt with vicious dogs throughout his public safety career. From kicking in doors with the fugitive, vice and narcotic squads, to dealing with crazy tenants as a landlord. MacArthur once worked with a K9 partner as part of a search team and is an avid animal lover. Having been bitten a few times, and having to resort to using lethal force in a few instances, this event will probably re-open a few old wounds so to speak.
