Baltimore Police opened fire on a man involved in a suspected drug deal. The suspect was shot multiple times.
The incident took place on the 3400 block of Old Frederick Rd., just before 7:00 p.m. Details are sparse, but in the video below, Lt. Col. Cliff McWhite, of the Baltimore Police Department, gives the police account what happened. At this point we have not been able to get any independent witness accounts.
Police say no shots were fired by the suspects. The condition of the man shot is unknown. Also, police have yet to confirm whether the suspect had an actual weapon.
Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts responded to the scene, but other than greeting this writer, did not interface or dialogue with the media.
Nearly a month ago, Tyrone West died in police custody, as a result of an altercation resulting from a traffic stop. To date, the original purpose or violation for officer pulling over West has not been stated. A final cause of death has also not yet been released.
