For Train And Bus Drivers, Zero Tolerance Cell Phone Policy

Following the lead of others AFTER people have been killed, Marylands Transit Administration makes a reactionary policy change.

In the wake of the killing of two teenage boys on the tracks of Baltimore's lightrail train, the MTA today announced a new zero tolerance policy for cell phone use. The move came after video from the camera attached to the front of the train showed the two boys walking on the track, before getting struck by the train, yet the operator appears to have no idea he had ran over and killed two people.

Under the policy, announced an hour after Washington's transit authority made a similiar policy declaration, any bus or train operator found to have been operating a cell phone or text messaging device will be promptly fired. First time offenders are no exception.
